The province initially reported 227 recoveries but later issued a correction, saying only 77 were recorded. That reverses a recent trend of recoveries outpacing new infections and and brings the total known number of active cases up to 1,582.
The province also reported administering 2,403 doses of COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, following days of limited inoculations when vaccine was in short supply. The province says a delivery of vaccine developed by Pfizer and its German partner BioNTech has allowed clinics to resume.
“With Pfizer vaccine shipments arriving this week, Phase One vaccination clinics will resume today and run throughout the weekend to ensure timely administration of the vaccine,” a release said.
